Intensive Caregiver/Child Therapy Program
Are you feeling stuck in your relationship with your child?
You love your child deeply, but managing their emotions or behaviors sometimes feels overwhelming. Maybe you're constantly wondering how to help them or feeling disconnected from the bond you know is there. As a caregiver, it’s easy to feel unsure of how to support your child while also juggling the responsibilities of daily life.
This Attachment-Based Intensive Therapy Program is here to help. Over 7 weeks, we’ll work together to give you the tools, support, and guidance you need to deepen your connection with your child and manage the challenges that arise — not through quick fixes, but through targeted strategies designed for lasting change.
How This Program Works
This is an intensive therapy program designed to help you gain critical skills in a focused period of time-this 7-week structure provides you with the hands-on support you need to start seeing shifts in your relationship and your child’s emotional health.
You’ll walk away with real tools you can use not just with the child you’re in therapy with, but across all your parenting experiences — tools you can apply with siblings or in different settings.
This program is offered in person at Tru Healing Therapy office in Apple Valley, CA or virtually throughout California.
Each week, we’ll meet for one-on-one sessions with both you and your child to focus on the core issues you’re facing, using a blend of attachment-based therapy and solution-focused strategies. Together, we’ll explore the dynamics of your relationship and work through real-life challenges
What to Expect
Initial Session: Observation & Planning (60 Minutes)
The first session is all about understanding where you’re at as a family. I’ll observe the interaction between you and your child to get a sense of attachment patterns, emotional triggers, and behavior dynamics. We’ll also set up a clear game plan for the next six weeks. This session is a space for you to ask questions, express concerns, and align with me on the work we’re about to do together.
6 Weekly Therapy Sessions (45 Minutes)
In each weekly session, we’ll focus on building specific, actionable skills that will help you support your child’s emotions and behaviors. We’ll tackle things like:
Strengthening attachment: Building a more secure emotional bond between you and your child.
Solution-focused techniques: Learning practical tools to handle challenging behaviors and emotional outbursts.
Each session will focus on hands-on work with your child, but the tools and strategies you learn will be applicable to other children or future challenges as well. It’s about creating lasting changes in your parenting approach, not just quick fixes.
Weekly Phone Consultations
In addition to our sessions, I’ll be available for 30-minute weekly phone consultations where we can troubleshoot challenges, adjust strategies, and offer extra support as needed. This ensures you always have a touchpoint for concerns between sessions, so you’re never navigating this work alone.
Homework Assignments
Each week, you’ll have a simple homework assignment that focuses on practicing the skills we’ve discussed in therapy. These tasks are designed to fit into your daily routine and help solidify the progress we’re making. Consistent practice is essential for making real, lasting changes.
1-Month Follow-Up Session (45 Minutes)
After we’ve completed the 7 weeks, we’ll schedule a follow-up session in about a month. This will give us a chance to review progress, refresh strategies, and address any new challenges that may have come up. It's also a great opportunity to refine any skills that need further attention.
This program is for caregivers who are:
→ Ready to commit to making changes in their relationship with their child.
→ Open to learning new strategies and putting in the work between sessions.
→ Interested in an intensive, focused approach that can lead to lasting change.
→ Seeking practical tools to manage emotions and behaviors, which can also be applied to other children or family situations.
If you're looking for a fresh start in your parenting approach, this intensive service offers an opportunity to make meaningful, lasting changes in a relatively short period of time.
